What this limited beta can and cannot verify
Checks now: headers, required dependencies, handles, titles, options, duplicate variant combinations, prices, booleans, status, inventory values, weights, image URL structure and source dependencies, fulfillment-service warnings, SEO lengths, tag limits, and common formatting problems.
Observed in a Shopify dev store: official sample behavior, missing title headers, illegal quoting, store-dependent fulfillment services, and missing image source data.
Not yet checked: whether remote images actually load, whether a product/metafield exists in your store, your store's daily variant limit, or whether an existing handle will be overwritten.

Common questions
Does this tool upload or store my CSV?
No. CSV contents are processed locally by JavaScript in your browser. The current tool has no account system or catalog-upload endpoint.
What can it fix automatically?
It can safely normalize many headers, prices, booleans, status values, whitespace, and common formatting problems. It will not guess product data that could change your catalog incorrectly.
Does a passing limited-beta result guarantee Shopify will import the file?
No. Shopify can still reject store-specific conditions that a browser-only tool cannot verify, such as inaccessible remote images, missing store references, or conflicts with existing catalog data.
Does it support older Shopify product CSV headers?
Yes. The checker recognizes a set of common legacy headers and maps them to the current product CSV names when the conversion is safe.
Is this an official Shopify tool?
No. VariantSafe is an independent utility and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Shopify.
